Heatilator? and blower?

Hello all. I'm new here. Presenting my fireplace with few questions. We have been in the house 3 years this January, I've had regular chimney maintenance, and haven't burned more than two cords.

We honestly don't burn much but I would like to burn more.

Previously we did not find any evidence of a blower fan. However, today while in the crawl space, I found two 14/2 wires, cut, that appear to feed up into the hearth. There is no switch or any other evidence I just have these two mystery wires leading up to that space.

Any thoughts? I'll get a picture of where the wires lead tomorrow.

House was built in 1970. However the fireplace was put in some time in the 80's from what we understand. The previous owner is/was a mason. However he may or may not be in prison currently.

Would there be a model stamp or plate located somewhere on the insert?

Planning on getting some type of mirror through those slots this afternoon to see what I can see

Also this setup is unique in that the previous owner had equipped this fireplace with a unit that allowed for circulation of the baseboard heating system through the "log rack" as pictured. That system while still plumbed in is currently disabled

Any advice to where the fan could be physically located? I got an inspection mirror and small light which proved nothing. I can't articulate either enough to see back behind

Yes there was a separate circulator, but that was located back at the heater
