Greetings.

I used to own a Pacific Energy T6 in my old house, but I left it behind when i moved to a new house this year. I spent 4 glorious years with the stove and it provided great heat for us.

My new house I decided to install a Neo 2.5 insert. The stove looks amazing and the fan etc runs fine but I'm having issues with the glass getting dirty. It started with the left hand side of the glass getting discoloured after my 1st burn. I cleaned it but it always seems to get dirty by the end of the night. Last week I decided to load up the fire and have it burn throughout the night. When I went to check it the next day both sides of the glass were heavily stained.
I very rarely had any issues with the glass staining on my T6.

Is this a common problem? I get my wood from a good local source so I don't think the wood is wet.

I'm going post pic's tomorrow to show my issues.

thanks.

Have you checked the door gasket? Air leaks will cause dirty glass. Search for 'dollar bill test' and you'll find a wealth of info.

Hi - my 2 cents - new house, newer woodpile? Perhaps the wood is not as dry as you're used to. Have you checked it?

I have the same issue! This is my second season with the insert. Its not the wood, I'm sure. I am burning 3 yr seasoned stuff that tests on the moisture meter at about 12-13%. I can start a fire with my kiln dried kindling scrap and by the time the kindling is coals and I'm ready for the first load, the lower left corner of the glass is black. Oh, and I've done the gasket test all around. Gasket is good.
I've read a few times now that others are having the same issue. Good unit for us otherwise.
