Which ones are any good, which ones do i stay away from, anyone have experience good or bad?
thanks guys/gals

Green Team is the only brand of pellets on your list that has been consistently good for most users. The other brands have been marginal with most complaining of significant ash content. Also, Green Supreme raised their prices recently from an already too high price point. I know one HD and there are probably more that have stopped carrying them for that reason.

For the love of god, do not buy the North American Pellets. I bought 4 tons of them over the summer because I was buying lumber from Lowes and I could essentially get my pellets with free delivery by ordering at the same time. So I got cheap, off season pellets with free shipping. The problem is that the North American Pellets are basically compressed dirt. Poor heat, and what's worse, they leave a creosote residue on the heat exchangers if you try to bump up the feed rate to compensate. I have no experience with the others - I just know they are all better than the North American Pellets.

I burned some Natures Own last year and they were pretty good.I believe they are made by Energex American which makes some well regarded pellets.Green Team are good as well but to much money around here.I agree North Americans are one of the worst pellets you can buy.Stay away.

I don't have nearly as much experience as others here having only installed my stove this summer but I've been dabbling in the big box store products, so maybe this will help...

Green Supreme - seem okay in my stove but only burned one bag so far (have about 9 more).
Greene Team - actually going through my first bag now. They seem just fine. As noted here, most people seem to like them.
Nature's Own - bought only 4 bags of these because it was a name I never came across before. They burned very hot! Average ash. Turns out they're basically rebagged Energex pellets (same as Stove Chow and Fireside Ultra pellets) which are fairly well regarded here. Wish I could find more!
ThermaGlo - burned the most bags of these. Comparable to the the Green Supreme pellets I think.
Spruce Pointe - found at the local Ace Hardware for $6.50/bag. Burn well. Heat wasn't as high as I was expecting given they're a softwood pellet but it was certainly respectable. Ash was the best of bunch - soft and fluffy and not as much of it.

I've found North Americans at many of the local BBSes but have been avoiding them based on reviews here and elsewhere.

So the jury is still out for me. Where did you find the Nature's Own?!? I'm almost but not completely certain I got my four bags at the Lowe's in Cromwell, CT... now I can't find them.

Timber heat was ok for me, and I would buy again. Nature's own was horribly ashy. Green Supreme was similar. Have not tried North American.

I AGREE 100% with this post. Friends don't let friends buy North American pellets. The only time I bought these was when I ran out of pellets in Early March, pellet shortage, and North American were the only pellets around. It like is snowing inside the pellet stove.

If they sold North American pellets for $200 a ton I still would not buy them

You two had me giggling with these posts...the pellets are that bad huh?

For like $20 more per ton, you can get Platinum pellets from BT in Bristol. I burned 2 ton of them last year and a ton of Green Supremes because that's what I could as late in the game as I was last year. You will be very happy with those Platinums. They had more fines and dust than GS's, but a quarter of the ash. I would have bought Platinums again this year but jumped too quickly on Spruce Points, which I'm also happy with. Bottom line, those Platinums are way better than any BBS pellet around, and they are only $280/ton at BT.

Burned Natures Own last year and really liked them. Couldn't find them when I ordered this year, if I could have I would have.

But it is only mid November...>> and not too terribly cold yet

I am wondering about that myself...seeing as this is my first year...I don't have much experience with different brands...I am going to try the presto logs as soon as I go through one whole rack of pellets (20 bags) then refill it and give those a try.

I have used all. 3 tons of timber heat last yr was the first time a pellet of any brand could not keep my house warm. had to pick up the poor NA or G supreems for cold nights

If that's all that's avaiable in your area go with the green team. Green supreme was the first ton I ever burnt last year when I was new and it was a terrible experience. Had to clean stove every two days and ash, soot, and clinkers were the worst. I have burnt 20 different brands at least since trying different brands and didn't have as much as an issue as I did with green garbage. The sodium content in their pellets are so high you can smell it when opening the bags, not to mention they use soy oil as a binder which I believe accounts for the soot in the stove. They will heat your home until it drops down to about 20 degrees out then you have to labor your stove to get heat out of them. I am lucky this year I got three tons of blazers. My house is at 72 on setting two out of five with the door open to my porch and it's 35 out. Best pellets I have used thus far besides okie fir

used mostly Greene Team our 1st 2 years with our P43. Great heat, lots of fluffy black ash but not so much to keep me from my normal every 3 week shutdown & clean schedule.

That's because Blazers are Douglas Fir Too.

I burned maybe 12 or so bags of Green Supreme last year. I had about the same result as I do with all the ashy pellets that work in the shoulder season. They heat your house, best I can say. Pretty ashy. My P61 will burn most anything though, it's just a matter of the mess and how many bags you don't mind going through in the colder weather . Pretty much as you said, though I did not burn them as it got really cold out..

Yes blazers are predominantly douglas fir as they state on the website not sure if that means 90/10 or 80/20, I rate the okanagan only a tick better not by much as far as heat and ash. I have burnt 5 bags of blazers thus far and haven't had to scrape my burn pot once and the ash is extremely low and I have a small ash pan. I could probably burn 15 bags without having to vacuum out the ash pan. My glass is glazed a bit but mostly clean which is impressive after 6 days. There are basically no fines in the bags I have opened either. I think they were brought up via railcar from the west and bagged here in the northeast could be wrong though.

I loved the Timber Heat for 2 years but this year they are very dusty!!! They were hotter than the rest you mentioned and burnt nicely, pretty clean, ash was no worse or better than most. Timber heat has been one of the hottest pellets I've ever burnt and I've tested 15 - 20 different brands. The Presto I just started burning this year and they are CLEAN... I mean really clean! You can dump the whole bag in there, VERY low ash.... I can run these for 3 days and the glass is still clean and clear. Very impressed with them... they seem hot but it's tough to tell because I've only been burning them at night (oil prices are very low) and temps having dropped to freezing yet so I'm burning them in temps between 40 - 55. The ones I have are from West Virginia I believe. I've read other posts that say the Presto are made in different states and the WV are better than others? Natures Own was hot but dirty and GS and GT are average... GT is hotter and cleaner but for the price $6 a bag I would rather get other brands at the same price point.

Actually I have to say that GS this year in my stove are burning pretty well, less ash than last year from what I can tell. Working fine with a lower flame height than Themaglo. It got cool enough overnight last night to fire the stove back up for the morning then again later this afternoon. I'll run it overnight tonight as well.
