Does anyone have an idea on how to test a moisture meter to see if it is reading correctly?

I just happen to have two moisture meters that are different in make and design. I compare the two all the time and have not seen an issue with either one.

If its an inexpensive one for firewood. It should read 30-35% on the palm of your hand. It should be about 12-15% on interior unpainted trim molding.

Let the wood come up to room temperature. Then try the same fresh split two or three times, is the result the same?
Use experience/judgement tests, what does a fresh split feel like on your cheek, what does it sound like knocked together with another split.
