I've been running a new style manhole lid for a few weeks and thought it time to share. My first impression based on just the picture was not real strong. Upon receipt I started to come around. It is heavy duty and looks to be laser cut 1/4 plate. The new gasket material is pretty bullet proof and the same stuff used for water stop in poured concrete. It doesn't stick to the casting and tear like the previous stuff nor soften from the heat. I fought the old one and got tired of packing it with backer rod just to keep the Garn Barn from being a sauna. Being.able to peek inside without messing with the float is another plus. Gotta give this upgrade two thumbs up and a Well Done to Team Garn. It may not win any beauty contest but sure works great. Dan

Yes I recently installed one as well. I give it 5 stars so far. Simple design makes it look like it would not do the job ... but it works great from what I've seen and makes the old lid look pretty silly.

It doesn't look like the web site will let me link to it......so go to the Garn site....... Parts. ....... Go with the 1500 for sure but I think all models would also have it...........Select the new lid...... Scroll down thru the pix and there is even a video. Goes for about a hundred and a half....
