Tried installing my new blower today in my stove and I had no success. Could not get the old blower out, the dealer and everyone on here says how easy it is. What am l doing wrong?? There was no room for the old blower to come out. Can someone explain it to me please!!! So frustrated!!!

Which fan, convection or combustion?

Here is a video for the convection fan.. does not look too difficult.

Slick, Is your stove an insert or standalone? Both are easy to do, but which one?
That video is the old style Convection blower !!! I assume you have the new Enviro blower....It should have shipped with a new capacitor as well.

Yes it's the stand alone and it's nothing like the video. If it was the video it would be easy Yes it is the newer blower and there is no room. Yes it has a capacitor. It's stove is cast iron.

Slick.....the convection blower (as you may know) is secured on "both" sides. I can't check mine at this moment because it's an insert...And I would have to pull out which is easy.....but it's running. I can't remember how many bolts on east side but it should come out on the right side......straight out/straight in. Make sure stove is unplugged. A standalone owner should chime in pretty quick....
Bill

Yup the stand alone has the cast iron that's in the way. Maybe that's why people say it's so easy because they don't have that to deal with. I can't get the fan past t

I understand! Let's ring the help buzzer and get all the M55 stand alone owners to chime in..hold on, here we go...Buuuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
That should work, although East Coast people are probably still eating and drinking dinner:)

Wait, there's a way to actually eat dinner? News to me...

Can't help with the stove issue, don't have that model. Just thought I'd chime in though, it's been a quiet day.

Replaced fan last week on the fs M55 steel. Took 9 minutes, including a vacuuming of the compartment. One bolt on each side of the mounting plate. What cast piece are you referring to? If it's the side panel, shouldn't it be removable?

There's the panel that has 3 screws, I take that off but the cast iron part, you don't take that off do you?? There is no way to get the fan past. I don't know how your doing it. The dealer said you have to tilt it a certain way but we couldn't do it and I didn't want to break something

I'm thinking you might have to bend something to make it fit and after spending $300 on it I'm not prepared to do that.

Can you possibly post a picture of both sides? I feel bad for you because there are a lot of M55 owners here but I don't know when they will chime in....

Here is a pic of a board members FS with the new fan installed....sorry but I don't see any cast iron piece blocking the fan.....that's why your stove pic could help....
Bill

Slick, I am still confused...is the other side like in this picture? I am not familiar with the FS and how the sides come off, but in the pic and based on how far back (from the front side) the blower should be on the far right...where it looks like you have a piece of black metal with a top and back sides. That is what has to come off....( I believe) because to the left would be most of the fire box and above it, the pellets. My Insert is different, but I have heavy cast iron sides that "lift off"......Those sides must also come off easily.....hopefully someone will save you soon!

We did mange to get the old fan out but not without damage to the fan that's why I'm not putting the new one in because i don't want to damage the new one.

Those sides must come off, do you have an owners "service manual". I will check.....Bill

Fantastic;lol;lol;lol Question...what do I see in the bottom of the pic where the old fan came out????

That's just part of the inlet tube.

...maybe above that...it looks like a dirty folded piece of paper...? Under a wire harness.... Just curious!
