Maybe my father was right that I had to take the whole right side of the stove off, but that's not an easy task either unless they make long skinny wrenches.

I'm sure an FS owner will he help with the install. Is this a used stove? As long as your doing the convection fan you might as well clean the combustion fan....clean everything! I take it you know the pros and cons of the new blower....It is very POWERFUL, it's also not quiet like the old blower....but you won't have the overheating problem anymore!
What kind of Pellets are in the pic? They look like a strange color.

I can't remember how long I've had the stove, this is my second new blower, it does force a lot more air and is a bit noisier, I would rather have heat so the noise doesn't bother me. I'm all about cleaning but I'm afraid I'll break something when I take it apart. How can I clean the fan when I can't even get it out . I'm sorry I'm just so discouraged

Well, money aside, Not sure why your so discouraged;sick, again when a more experienced owner chimes in?? 2nd new style motor....sounds electrical to me. Are you plugged into a surge protector? As far as cleaning the fan, a can of compressed air in one hand ( with the extension piece ) and the vac hose in the other and blast away...just be careful not to hit the blades with the plastic piece or the vacuum tip.

I just looked at your owner's manual on the enviro website. The side cast iron panels can be removed, and based on the figure showing the damper, they do extend over the convection fan's ends. Options: you could try to determine how they are secured (might open hopper lid and look at the top edge), you could contact a knowledgeable dealer for enviro and ask how to do so, or you could ask a stove repairman (swilliamson?). Once you remove those, it will be easy to remove and replace the fan. Last option is to call Sherwood. If they give you the contact number for the district rep, that person should be able to explain how to remove the panels. Good luck; I like my quieter than the Bixby M55.

Well the dealer is contacted and he said he's coming Sunday and ensures me he doesn't have to take the cast iron part off, I will be watching how he does this for sure.

I have the cast insert, and the sides are very easy to remove, but I need to remove the hopper lid first, then just "lift" the sides up and to the side. They just hang on the sheet metal of the stove by 4 hooks that go into slots. Not sure how similar the FS is, but maybe start with removing the top and see if you can lift the cast sides off?

Hi Bill L, for what's it's worth, you don't have to remove the hopper lid to remove or put back on....the two side pieces! I have the same stove. I just carefully slide the hopper lid as far open as possible ( again carefully ) and then either remove or put back on....the side pieces. It took a bit of practice and your fingers do much of the lifting toward the back top edges of the side pieces. I don't like to mess with the tops two drawer hinges with the tiny ball bearings. A couple of years ago I was doing something, was putting the top back on and somehow hit one of the slider hinges and ball bearings went flying all over. Never did find half the bearings and the new piece was rather complicated to put back on without repeating the disaster.

Well, the service manual doesn't give instructions on how to remove the convection fan on the Cast model.

But found this thread from a user who went through this too:

https://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/new-enviro-m55-turbo-blower-installed.83314/

The Cast model seems to be much more involved than the FS model.

User Nailed_Nailer would be perfect to answer this.

But it seems there are panels on the sides that have to come off.

Did I hear my name????? Lol

Easy as pie to remove the convection blower.

Top of Stove....
Open up small Fill door and remove the two Hinge bolts (Mine are chrome colored) (These also hold the Cast top on)
Remove the small door and the plastic hinge guides (put them somewhere safe)
Lift off the whole top and place somewhere out of the way.

On the right side (if facing the stove) look behind the Right Cast Panel. You will see two bolt heads just below the surface.
Loosen (Don't remove) these. The whole Right side Cast panel will lift straight up and off. Again put somewhere out of the way.
Do the same to the Left side panel.
Loosen the bolt holding the convection blower on the left side.
Mark all electrical connection to the blower.
Loosen and remove the bolt from the Right side of convection blower.
While supporting the blower pull it out the Right Side.

Not much to it.

About the only issue I've had when replacing everything is to make sure the Control panel ribbon cable is fully inserted before you put the top panel back on. The daughter board (Control panel) just kinda floats around.

Oh yeah if you decide to run the stove with the Cast panels off.....you have to cheat the magnet switch for the hopper door. Don't ask How I know that.

Hope that helps,

As a new pellet stove owner, bought used, that has had problems, I must say I am impressed with "slick", trying his best to defeat the gremlins in his stove.

As I am impressed with the support of this forum.

I expect fully a full successful expedient resolution to his situation within hours...

Get to work, dammit. All of you.

Thank you Nailer, I think everything you said makes sense to me Now I'm debating on doing this myself or waiting for the dealer to come Sunday like he said he was. The weird thing is is that the dealer says he can put the blower in without taking the sides off.

One question, when I take the top off I have to unhoke the ribbon cable
From the control board??

Dealer coming.....That's up to you. What do they charge for a home visit?

If you do have them do it....watch over their shoulder and learn.

No Atom splitting in these things....No PHD needed. Mostly function on common sense and oxygen. lol

Good Luck,

Well the dealer came and installed the fan. Hocked it all up and the fan wouldn't come on. Just want to crawl in a hole and cry, so frustrated but all that aside. I've been doing some research, would the POF switch be causing this?? The fan doesn't come on but it shuts off with the #3 flashing. He's gonna call
enviro tomorrow to see what's up. Any suggestions??

We did find where we broke a wire putting the fan in but connected it back together with black tape but that didn't seem to work either. Checked all the fuses and they all work.

Download the Pellet Service Manual from Enviro's website. c-12145. It has a troubleshooting flowchart which may help. Keep us posted.

At this point, if you feel the dealer is capable of handling this issue, let him deal with it. Too many cooks in the kitchen can work against each other.

I think I found out that my problem is with the wire that got cut, the guy just taped it together but I don't think that's good enough, there is enough wire to connect it to where it needs to go but I need to put a quick disconnect on it, is there a certain size or type I should be using??

For a permanent solution to the broken wire, it should be more than just taping together. Having said that, if the broken ends were twisted together well enough then I doubt that is your problem because it would be making contact. #3 light could mean the exhaust blower motor is not working correctly, or the Exhaust Temp Switch is malfunctioning or covered with ash and needs a cleaning.

If you know how to check for these things, check them out, if not, let the dealer look into it.

In addition to what others have posted for a manual.
Enviro has put their Pellet Service Manual on line as well.
Its more of a technicians tech manual for all of their stoves.
It is also on the Enviro Manuals page on the right side under Misc.
