29 and have been 24/7 for 3 years, this being the third.

37, burned 4/7 in our inherited a smoke dragon in my first home for 9 years, just now installed an insert in our new home after dealing with gas logs  for the past 2 years. We are thrilled to be burinin' again!

47 been burning 24/7 for 3 years. First in the family to say no to the oil man, finally had enough of that guy!

I'm 27, bought my house 2 years ago and wanted to use the "fireplace"... After a sweep informed me that he'd guarentee i'd nburn my house down if i dd, I found this site, then bought an insert. I try to burn 24/7 but lately its been 16/7

48 years old this is my fourth season burning 24/7. I grew up in an A-frame in VT in the 60's / 70's that was heated by Round Oak smoke dragon. Haven't had the opportunity to burn until I built this last house 5 years ago. Will never go back to oil as long as I can swing a maul.

50 Years old this coming month, I burn almost every night and all weekends. I love the fact that my gas heat bill
is mostly from cooking only. Grew up from a wood burning family, and I am passing it down to my son and daughter.

39 1/2 years old ( I really don't wanna be 40) been burning for 10 years. Last 3 winters 24/7, no back up just an old smoke dragon :red:

I'm happy to see all these responses. It's fun to put a profile with people you see on the website. I'm also glad to see a whole bunch of warm and happy woodburners.

Thanks and keep them coming!

Jim

44 3rd season 24/7 with a Jotul Castine. I had previous experience with wood burning with an insert in my younger years in Wisconsin at a weekender cottage. My main impetus for getting a stove is my dire economic forecasts for basic needs inflation and the very easy source of no/low cost firewood in the region.

57 here and have been burning wood in the winter 24/7 since 88. The last 2 years in a house with a stone chimney and insert instead of a stove.

37 years old but getting in better shape due to the wood-handling. :) This is my second year burning 24/7 in my insert. My two little boys both love to help daddy pick out firewood to put in the stove. Can't imagine not doing it now that I've seen how comfortable a 75 degree living room is in shorts and a t-shirt. :)

33 years old, been burning for two winters in my own house..Grew up with a VC stove at my parents.

I am 30 years old. My first 5 years was on a Lopi Answer 24/7 at my previous house. We have since built a house and I now burn 24/7 an "evil" OWB that heats my house and hot water. I also burn it all summer for hot water because wood is cheaper than electric. It will be 2 years burning that 2/1/08 for a total of 7 years burning.

61 years old. Parents ran a sawdust stove in the 50`s and 60`s. I used a drolet stove in the 70`s and early 80`s. Now burning in a 1985 PE insert. Using 4-5 cords per year burning 16/7. *Yesterday for the first tiime I heard that "freight train" in the rec-room. Had a hot fire going and the wife put a cardbox on the fire. Yikes!!! That lasted about 20 seconds. Hopefully it won`t happen again. :cheese:

I was 39 for the 16th time this year. Burning 24/7 since 1982. Two stoves. Burn one most of the time but the second one for ambiance or when it is single digit temps. I'll probably die with a split in my hand (hopefully a long time from now).

I am 35 and have been 24/7 burning in an Avalon Ranier for 7 years at this house. Mom & Dad had an old 1980's something smoke dragon in their house that we used for supplemental heat to the central heat.

Just hit 31 and have been burning 24/7 for about 3 years with my Jotul insert. It didn't take long for me to realize that cutting and splitting free wood sure beats the heck out of paying for natural gas!

I'm an old fart and I started a fire this morning. Well, I also started a fire about 60 years ago....

53. Cut firewood to pay for part of college. Started burning 24/7 15 years ago with a 4 year break when living in warmer climes. Now 24/7 for last 4 years. Furnace has not kicked on since some time in early November, used mostly to move air around.

i'm 38 years old, been burning 24/7 since it got cool out... this is my first stove. only been a wood burner a few months now and love it..

63--have burned 24/7 since 1973 with my trusty dragon "Nashua". Wouldn't be at all surprised that a properly operated old "dragon" could put on a pretty good show against a poorly (operated/understood/designed) newer one that has to be endlessly "babysat" to get to run properly. The real world is a strange place--- what looks good (or bad) on paper doesn't always work that way in reality.

32 Yrs old;burning 24/7 the past 4 yrs in 2 different homes with 4 different stoves.I find it ironic that when I had to split rounds and load the old woodbox daily as a kid, I hated it.Now-I can't get enough of it-although stacking wood is still a groan.
