Ditto. Fire her up!

Right there with ya got my stove loaded full of red oak and thanking myself for the new blower on the stove, warms the house up twice as quick. 15 outside and 74 inside. Gonna be going 24/7 for a few days here in pa. Guess winter finally decided to show up, was wondering if I'd get a chance to sample my 2 year seasoned oak!

Winter was here for 24 hrs. It was down to 0 last night so with the boiler running full tilt the house stayed at 71 when I got up this morning. Sun was shinning all day and the inside temp hit 80, too darn hot.
Now the temps are supposed to go back up in the 40's for the rest of the week, what a yo-yo winter.

16 and breezy outside right now. Inside, my Heritage stove is keeping the kitchen half of the house warm and the Lopi insert in the fireplace handles the rest. Tonight the stoves are being served a pairing menu of 1 piece red and 1 piece white oak each time I add wood. I'll add some overnight wood soon before I power down - by 4:55 when wake up, the embers will be begging to be fed and my house will have backed down to about 60 degrees. By 6:16 when my oldest wakes up for high school, I'll have warmed the house back up to the 70s.

From my living room chair I can watch both the stove and the insert going. I sit in the dark and watch them for about 15 minutes - dual screen cave man TV. If I wasn't on the wagon for the week, watching with a nice glass of allagash dark, or Baxter IPA or Funky Bow, or... would be nice

18 degrees here and dropping got to big blocks of black locust and one of mulberry. House around 76 little warm but froze outside today at work.

21 here in the tropic with 16 mile an hour wind. Chill factor 15 and dropping. Then tomorrow it gets cold.

Stove has been cranking at 680 since nine o'clock. Looks like I get up a little early in the morning for a feeding.

I just threw in a split of Black Cherry and a split of Black Locust. It's 5 outside and 73 inside currently. Today was the first day that I've actually burned around the clock. 12 short days ago it was 75 degrees out.

Believe it or not I'm actually enjoying this "real winter" a bit..

for a few days anyway..

5:30am it was 19 degrees out with 4mph winds. I went for my morning run and came back in to fire up the stove from a hot bed of coals from the night before. Burning through some cherry right now. Loaded her up at 10pm last night before bed. Stove was about 2/3 - 3/4 full of cherry and easily got a 7-8 hour burn overnight. My new super 27 is doing a fine job. I can't wait to see how well it does on a packed full load of red oak.
