Hey Burners trying to see if I have a problem here. See that gap I'm pointing to with my poker, does that look normal to you? Its an Intrepid II 1308. That piece is the throat that directs air into the catalyst

Looks fine to me, that gap shouldn't cause any problems.
Yea you're right redhat. If one part was gonna warp I guess that would be the to have it happen to. I must have mounted it wrong at some point restricting movement or somehting, to have made it warp like that. Was curious if any other VC owners see this.
 
Yes, it did that on mine, and bottom part of hood was slowly eroding away. Too many years of high heat caused sag and erosion. I replaced it...new one has couple internal cross bars to prevent the sag. Replaced mine because didnt like idea of flame having direct path into the catalyst.
