Been reading here for a while and thought I would post.
Our new(to us) home came with a pellet stove so this is my first season with it.
We have an englander 10-CDV and are burning pellets in it to heat most of our 2300sqt ft home(actually heating about 1700-1800sq ft).
My biggest concern right now is pellet quality and availability. I see that most of you folks are on the east coast so us midwesterners get much less pellet love.
I have seen very limited variety of pellets and bought the first brand I could find in bulk(easy heat)...after doing some research I have been discouraged.
These are very ashy and the stove needs constant cleaning(burned 2 tons so far...deep cleaned every ton)...but Im pot commited right now.
Im having to run the stove on 9(highest fuel and air) setting to keep the heat up...the propane furnace still kicks on to maintain 69 degrees in the house(32 to 20 degrees outside average right now) and Im burning about 2 bags a day.
Anyone know of a place that carries a higher quality pellet in bulk in Indiana?
Love my stove though.
