:)currans suck bad, bought 1 ton of instan theat like night and day great heat and low ash, last time i will buy currans
:)

I agree the currans are pretty bad compared to every single other brand i have tried.

I did a water test a few days ago with a few diff pellets. Most pellets soaked up the water withing 3 or 4 minutes and disinigrated... the currans were still holding together after 20 minutes. I am very curious what they are using for material as well as a binding agent! Almost like waterproof glue :-/

I spoke to them on the phone about the problem. They admitted i was not the only person complaining. But she did say that every complaint came from an englander stove owner. So it must be the stove  funny how my stove burns just about every other pellet about 99% better than the currans

Local stove shop is trying to get me to give Curran HW a try.

I am resisting because I have such a bad taste from burning their mix last year (about a ton).

Maybe at .50 cents a bag and they provide the stove cleanings weekly.. im sorry i have nothing good to say about them at all.

Bought a couple bags of curran blend to try. Terrible. They burn clean, no black glass or anything, but no heat. On setting 3 I woke up to a 68 degree house. Other pellets and I would be roasting at about 75. Outside temps are the same. Not impressed.

I just didn't bother to contact them - just moved on to cheaper pellets that burn hotter and if not cleaner, at least not worse in that regard. Currans weren't very good in either the Harman P61a or the former St. Croix Hastings.

I tried to figure out the problem. But without being able to find the invisible date code on the bags she couldnt (and i quote) go back into the logs to see if there was a problem at that time. That tells me that even if there was a known problem that the pellets were bagged and shipped anyways. I tried exta hard keeping my money local but i gave up.

:)sorry i did not realize currens were this bad, not trying to brag, just very happy .

What is the upc # on the bag? Or upload a pic of the upc. Im curious where those came from
Sorry about the delay. Piled a 'few' bags on top of those and just now got back to them.
They burn very hot for me, but everything burns hot for me. That's why I built it the way I did...for heat ;-)

That thing looks pretty cool.

Cool enough it got me a locked thread and a threatened lawsuit because it doesn't fill houses with smoke.

That upc just comes up as tsc. Maybe it is a good brand and they dont want to be known as tsc garbage :)

Not sure on that, but while it's pure crap as far as far as composition, it burns nicely...hot but with lots of ash. Not that my stove cares one way or another since the design is nearly self-cleaning, but I'm sure others will have a problem with it.

According to iGepir, the TSC 100% Hardwoods are from Lignetics.

Bar code is 013238000612
Yes, they are. I didn't see "Lignetics" on the bag ANYWHERE. Manager assured me they were, even took me to the unopened pallets and showed me each of them had a Lignetics tag on them :) Having not tried these in my stove this year I bought 2 bags...went back for 6 more bags today. They are MUCH cleaner than these crappy, fined LOADED Greenways I got this year, VERY good heat with an acceptable ash residue :) Into bag 2 and so far no scraping of the fire pot required. TSC has these at $209/ton right now. I think she said that price goes away Feb 14th...now I just need a Fairy Godfather to unload a ton for me :)
