Throughout the whole stack or just the ends?
Throughout. Look at the air flow.Throughout the whole stack or just the ends?
Can I save this picture, and repost it in other threads later giving credit to @Omaha419 please?
Every two months or so we have a stacking thread go by where I say "stacked all criss cross like a Pilgrim" and this is exactly what I mean.
In my experience wood stacked like this will dry faster, but it takes me FOREVER to stack like this, so I don't do it anymore.
@Felix5513 , I think you will get slightly better airflow that way. If you have good sun and good wind on your stacks it might not be needed, but if you aren't as far ahead as you want to be it probably will speed things along a bit.
Thanks - and knock on wood....hasn't fallen over yet either!Looks good!
I can't stack worth a damn. But my method doesn't need me to. Dries two years outside, one inside.View attachment 173008
LOL.. that's only a shot of one half of the barn.. other half is completely full. There's a farm shutoff for water in that pic that hogs a spot, and the chipper lives inside for when I finally get around to overhauling the bearings. It still works, so I haven't come up with the motivation to do it. I have one row in the middle that's 8' shelves. Thats' lawnmower, driveway groomer, and then a little workbench. It's nice to get the off season stuff up 12 or 14 feet in the air and the heck out of my way! but the only way to get the golf cart down is to borrow my buddies forklift. My tractor can reach middle row only. You look like the local Walmart for wood. Great system.
