i'm down here in southern maryland about 30 miles of dc and on the chesapeake bay......we got about 18 inches of sometimes horizontal snow. i knew it was coming so i brought in about 5 days of wood and stacked it in the basement.....fired up the PE Summit and the Jotul both and weathered it out. cudos to the local power companies as we haven't lost power yet. snow blower quit but i have a little john deere to clear my 75 yard drive way.

Howdy to another southern Marylander!

Been several years since I've had a Jeep.
well, i lost that bet....thought because of your screen name you had one. my wife and i have owned a few. Me the wranglers, she the liberty and cherokee. now i drive a big ole dodge ram

Hardcore surviving right there, I like it!
Ha it sucked. I'm soft, I like warm showers and tv. I remember the power coming back on, it was like a god send! we didn't go hungry, dad brought us groceries etc. But my brothers and mom didn't leave our 40 acres for 15 days!

Well, you were basically right. My screen name was because of the Jeep I had. Dang I miss that thing. It was a Wrangler.

Yea, I like the idea of moderately surviving. Roughin it a little, but still be able to get a warm shower.

Who's ready? For spring? Me! After 50 Michigan winters I know there's some who like the idea of snow higher than nuts on a giraffe. Don't worry though; you'll get over it sooner than later.

There's a problem with your picture, Cburke--I think it's supposed to look more like this:

I just got home tonight after being stranded in Atlanta because of the storm. Here in NoVa we got close to 30 inches. I had to tell my wife which stacks had the most seasoned firewood because the indoor stash wasn't going to last long once the power went out. Normally the power here goes out at the drop of a hat (or branch). The strangest thing is that the power didn't go out, not even briefly. Thank goodness for miracles!

48d, sunny, strong consistent winds. Don't usually get a good drying day on 1/26.

I don't know about up there but our local weather guy, has been saying Feb. and March will be the Snow Producers.

We had record rainfall here in Missouri, and mild temps so far.

Sunny and 40 here today, haha cheers!
The Weather Channel just released their 3 month outlook, above average temps for most of the Midwest and East in Feb, March, and April.

Would be wonderful if it is. Last winter was long enough to make up for the next few years.
This weekend is going to be a" fall type " gem, 48 sunny all weekend. Mid 40's through to next weekend--i'm calling it.

Above average is nice but that doesn't mean no snow. Most of our biggest Snows come Feb and March.

I'll take the 62 degrees projected Sunday though!

1 year...last year yesterday I was dead on the couch with flu, 30+ " of snow on the ground, single digit temps. This year, swinging on the playgound swing with my 9 year old in a light sweater. Today even warmer.
