I'm the worst at carrying in wood. Earlier this season I dropped a split from a huge arm load and broke the arm off of a chair we really liked. Last night I dropped a split from a similar sized arm load and it broke the side door handle of our F600 in half. Tried to order a new one today, but I have to get the whole assembly and it has to be shipped from Europe. At least I haven't burned myself this year....yet, and I still love heating with wood.

I bet if you call Vic at Best Fire in Green Island NY (518) 687-2388,
he can get you the knob with out the rest of the assembly.
Open til 4 PM...

Unfortunately I don't need the knob, I need the metal handle. Maybe I'll call to see what he can offer though. Thanks for the tip.

Those canvas carriers are nice. Also keeps you from getting your clothes dirty if you need to reload while still being presentable. [emoji12]

My in-laws got me a wood carrying tote from LL Bean for Christmas. At first I thought, ok typical mother -in-law gift saying subliminally "this is what i think of you". You know. But I'll tell ya what, they are really nice after using one for a while. It also keeps most of the dirt and bark smalls off the floor. I guess just this once i really was the a-hole thinking what I thought! Ha ha

I dropped one on the laminate floor yesterday. My wife was in her basement office and starting screaming if I was alright! It did echo pretty well! Older I get the clumsier!

This is true.

They also contain any pieces of bark or wood chips that fall off rather than ending up all over your carpet/floor.

I started out with a cheap Lowes canvas tote ... bought a LL Bean tote ... excellent quality and worth the price.

My parents use a canvas tote they love it. My mother is a clean freak so it keeps her happy, the house clean, and the fire burning

Canvas tote is a must

I would do a little inter web scouring. May find the handle and get it quicker.

Just an idea? I may need to get a canvas split tote - 100% rave reviews so far

That's what we all get for buying high end, European designed stoves like Jotul. I'm saying this from experiences like yours too. I was thinking on getting a larger Jotul than what I have now but I'm starting to think something from an American company that actually has reasonably priced, available parts and customer service. Loved my stove last year but as I spend more time with it, I get less and less thrilled.
