My two Azel Temperature gauges, http://www.supplyhouse.com/Azel-Technologies-DS-60P-Dual-Zone-Digital-Temperature-Gauge-with-Two-Universal-Sensor-Probes?gclid=COyHs6u9zcoCFYIaHwodN30ATQ work perfectly when mounted very near my 1000 gallon storage tank. They are powered by a 24v transformer using 18 gauge wire. I have the sensors duct taped to the tank with aluminum backed duct tape under insulation. The Azels are supposed to work several hundred feet from their sensors location.

I originally planned to mount the gauges inside our home, about forty feet from the tanks location out in the garage. However, every 10- 15 feet or so further away from the tank, the Azels' readings decrease roughly ten degrees. The wires are not located near any other wires. I tried regular zip cord instead of the 18 gauge wire, but the problem persisted. Both gauges do the same thing and the Azel's are not programmable.

Is there anything you could suggest to fix this. I'm tired of having to go out into the cold garage every time I want to get tank temperature readings. Or could anyone recommend another brand or device that might actually work. I don't want anything fancy or computer connected, just a device I could mount under my regular house thermostat, forty feet from the tanks sensors, that would give four accurate temperature readings at a glance. Thanks for any suggestions.
