Feeling the Heat

Today I pulled my calf muscle pretty bad. Have to lay on the floor with my leg elevated. This is my view of the Isle Royale with full secondary action.

I had a similar view of my stove yesterday, but my reason was not nearly as good as yours. (Got involved in a hearth discussion about how many minutes it takes for the cat to glow and wound up lying on the floor with the dog.)

With my stove in full blown secondary burn the heat coming from the glass would have me melted into a puddle in a minute if was laying in front of it. Nice stove by the way. I love those brown enamel stoves

That is a great view after a cold day I lay in front of the stove with the two labs. Hope the calf gets better.

Take time with that calf muscle. They take forever to heal. I babied a pull for nearly a month once, overdid it, and ended up injuring it again. They suck.

You a runner too or was in injured a different way? Anyhow a speedy recovery to you.
The Isle Royal is a great looking stove. My parents got one to replace the VC Vigilant they had used since the 80's. Might be brown enamel too, I seem to recall it being a bit more reddish but maybe its just the lighting. In any case a great looking stove. I fear they just don't know how to run a tube stove though, I ask him about getting it up to temperature to where the secondaries light off and he is like what are you talking about.

Yep! Run around 40 a week. Thats how I find most of my wood to scrounge. I did need to keep backing up as this thing kept making heat. Limped down to nice coal bed this morning. I have now assumed the position once more. Thanks all for good thoughts.

Sounds good man, heal up. You got me beat if that is your norm... I've had a few 40 and 50 mile weeks but only a few. Usually I shoot for 30, sometimes I don't even get that, depending on my work schedule and other stuff going on. I'm actually a barefoot runner.

Tore mine once....just happened out of nowhere mowing the lawn....dropped me pretty fast...was in a cast for two weeks with my foot pointed downward...PITA. Speedy recovery to you, my friend:cool:

You barefoot guys are tough!! I don't do that. I'll ramp up into the 60's if I'm in marathon training. Have to really plan it around work etc.

Ice. Advil. Rest. Repeat. :)
You are correct! I ran a race down your way two weeks ago. Chilly chill in Cazenovia! Stay warm this weekend it's getting cold. Glad I have dry wood in the garage to get through this next dip into the negative numbers.

I'm out the Jamesville way...about 10 miles West of Caz.
Yes, it is about 8F right now with 3-5" expected and temps dropping to -11F tonight. Nothing the Englander can't handle. I'll have it stocked with maple and oak. Porch is loaded with wood. :)
