When I read the manual my understanding is on high low thermostat setting the unit goes to lowest setting on the feed and blower when there is no call for heat and then goes to the selected setting (ex 8-8) when there is a call for heat.
My unit the blower speed stays at the selected setting but the pellet feed drops lower to where some times the fire will go out .
Could anyone tell me the correct operation for the high low setting?
I always had an on off setting for the thermostat but went to the high low setting to determine if the pellet usage going to be more economical than replacing igniters a couple times a season.
I emailed Englander on this but got no response.

Not sure about the newer stoves but the thermostat only controls the heat side. Fan stays on high.

It was my biggest complaint about using my pdv on the thermostat. It got to the point where having the fan on high would cool the stove down so much the air from the fan felt cool and the blower would shut down and cycle high to off. Not an issue if the stove is in a basement but when you sit next to or in front of it it makes it uncomfy.
