Did my errands today, wore my insulated jeans, and under armour, and thermals.... loaded up the house with firewood today, instead of tomorrow !

Both stoves cranking, I'm at 73 F in the main level, and 70 F on lower lever (both stoves on the way up after a reload)... will supplement in about 2 hours, then reload for the night.

- 19F expected in the morning..... time to get your game on any one involved in this polar vortex !

Tonight -32C
wind-chill-45C
Sunday -38C
wind-chill -39C
Not even close to the record
but coldest so far this winter

Went to our local spot which is right on the sound for a drink and a quick bite. Holy Moley is it windy and cold! Better take my medicine.

0 F here in the hollow right now

Dix is sleeping in shifts tonight & tomorrow.

75 F lower level (the 13 banked for the night), 73F upper level, (getting ready to bank off the PE), temp should climb to 75 F or so.

Monday, and going back to work is looking pretty good right now o_O

12f with wind chill of 3f at the moment in the Tropics of Virginia. Did the normal night load at 9 pm but will not be sleeping as late as usual in the morning.

I just filled the stove for the overnight burn and it sure makes a difference when you're burning so hard the ashes don't turn into fine dust as quickly. I never have a problem with coals but I've got enough that I can't load an extra layer of wood on top.
I took the dogs for a very short walk and got back in the warm house before we all froze our wienies off. Still on 100% wood heat and still toasty warm in the house. In a few days we'll be warm again and forget what real cold feels like.

I spent yesterday out on the lake ice fishing. Was around 15 degrees and 15-20 MPH wind so it was a bit chilly. After that had an early Valentine's dinner out with the wife. I let the boiler work yesterday and last night. Was -12 when I woke up and first thing I did was start the stove to give the boiler a rest.

Really cold here, too. I can't quantify it for you but the snow has the telltale squeak that only accompanies wicked cold weather. No cats are willing to cross the threshold, dog was "all business" this morning. The wind howled all night long. Often I don't rekindle the house stove in the morning but as soon as I finished making coffee I was "on it". In my shop now and I've fired the Classic up, too. I'll wait for it to warm up a little before I refill the woodboxes and head off on my fabric buying mission this morning.

-18 at my place in northern NH. Normally my house is warmer than the nearby Androscoggin River valley (Berlin NH) but there is enough wind to stir things up . Its -26 on top of Mt Washington about 4 miles south of my place. The wind chill is -65.

It's cold outside. Warm inside. That is all.

-19 this morning. Good day for inside projects. Like feeding the stove and reading a book.

4 of the 6 have decided to camp out here in front of the admittedly dirty woodstove . . . one other is sitting in my . . . I mean his . . . more comfy easy chair about 8 feet away from the woodstove and other one is a recluse and hiding in the upstairs bathroom.

-8F with wind chills of - 15F this morning at o'dark 4:30 AM, house at 64F. Spent 2 hours reloading and bringing the temps back up to 70, then crashed for a few hours.

A whopping 5F right now outside.

The wind isn't nearly as bad.

The Beast sat for 5 days, including the last 2. Went to start it to run it to the barn today, and it groaned a little before turning over.Could ne new battery time

Windy here. Temp is 54F (ducking quickly).
