So I have a 7 month old and he is getting close to crawling.. When the little ham gets mobile I know I'm gonna have to baby prof the stove, just wondering what some of you guys used for setups..

I would put an ad in the Items Wanted/For Sale section of this forum. Lots of people buy stuff for this and the kids grow out of the need for it.

I have a folding fireplace screen in front of mine. Works well but they will still get around it if they want to.
The best training is to have them touch it when it is very warm and not too dangerous. Hot means nothing without an example.
My 2 yr. old granddaughter put her hand on the side of my soapstone stove on Monday. If it had been cast iron or steel, she would have had a serious burn but the soapstone does not burn the skin as easily. She has been trained and knew it was dangerous but did it anyway, just because she's like grandad and nothing is for sure until you have proven it yourself. Cried ten minutes then everything fine.

Sell the stove..... You'll need the cash soon enough. Kids cost money. LOL! Down the road stoves don't burn kids.

Most set up fire screens and gate deals. You could likely get buy cheap with some creativity. Just sand bag the lil' dude out by stacking bags of pellets all around the stove. Benefit there is they are already carried in and ready to dump. Not sure it would be Boss Lady approved decor but when was the last time she was mad at you? You ready to roll the dice?

Tell her it is a new fad and a Vogue multiple designer approved look called utilitarian redneck chic'. It's the new rage, Honey........ Good Luck with that one. Let me know how that works out for ya.

My setup for the last 2 seasons, my little girl (3 now) hasn't bothered with the stove much, but has tempted to touch it, just being a toddler. :)

I've only had my stove for this season , the only time my 16 month old (at the time of install) goes close to it is when he helps me clean it. Lmao. On the first run he was intrigued but didn't get to close. Then I pretended to touch and acted like it hurt and he hasn't gone close while it's running.

North States Super Yard 3 in 1 is what is in this pic. It has 2 more sections and you can arrange them however you want and it anchors easily in drywall. It cost me about $160 from Amazon.

P. S. Yes I know my stove is filthy. I just ran out of my hardwood pellets from TSC and I had to burn last year's Freedom Fuel (uggghhhh). Bummed that when I went to look for what is around to buy in Asheville, my report from October is the last thing that comes up.
