Lowes is selling Maine's Choice and North American Pellets for $3.98/bag. They have tons in stock...

May not be the greatest pellets, but the price is good...

Is there a per ton discount?

Anyone successful with getting a price adjustment from lowes when they lower the price of pellets. I just bought 25 bags at 5.18 a bag a few weeks ago.

same here at my lowe's, they had Green Supreme, nations choice, natures own and Big heats, I picked up 15 bags of the big heats to try because I have heard they are pretty decent and I need something to mix in with the terrible Ironstones I got.

That is correct! I picked up a ton, same price. The Store in Seabrook NH, had many tons in stock so they are trying to get rid of them to make space.. Good for us!

Yaaaaay, just ordered 3 tons for next year!!! They have a crap load at lowes in Springfield, Ma. Watch, now the price will drop even less, just my luck.

The employee that help load mine said he heard the $199 Ton /$3.98 per bag pricing was only good thru 2/29/16. Don't know how true that is but get em while you can!!!!!

Green Supreme, which got me excited as I have liked how the NEWP burn this year as I believe they are the same in my researches

Use Military discount and get 10% off 1 bag or 10 ton!
If you do not have .MIL ID, ask someone who does and get the 10% discount.

Lowes by me has the same pricing on Green Supremes.

I've been burning Lignetics and been happy. How have folks felt Green Supremes compare to Lignetics?

I paid $5.15/bag for 2 tons of Lignetics (delivered) in August. If I can get something similar for less than $4/bag, I'll buy next year's pellets now.

Lowes here has GS and GT ( green Team) huge difference in price, $3.98 for GS and $6 something for GT. i bought ten bags of GS, it's supposed to get cold for a few days those will be fine in my P61. it's basically turned into shoulder season here now anyway unless we get a real crash in temps.

Take a look at your Lowes and see if they have any of the "Clean Energy" brand pellets. They will be the same $3.98 per bag. The Clean Energy are Hamer Hot Ones. I bought 2 tons of them from Lowes last week. Where are you located?

Before I drove to Lowes I called to see what they had or if they had pellets and the price ( HD was out, they had to throw out a bunch that got rain soaked they said). The lady said they have 4-5 brands and that the ones that are priced at $3.98 are Green Supreme. I've burned GS several times in my P61 in shoulder season and have never found them to be the big bad wolf everyone makes them out to be . At least not in that burning climate. They burn up like every other pellet I put in the hopper. Granted I wouldn't want them in 0 deg weather but I think we are out of that stuff for this year, at least here on the coast. However, if they have the hotter Clean Energy, like you, I might be interested in those for next year ! I'm back home now but I will check that out soon, thanks for the tip.

Anyone use Green Team pellets? What makes them so much more expensive than the others that Lowe's sells? Hotter? Less ash?

Even before the drop in price of the others to $3.98 the GT pellets were at least a Dollar more.

Which of the following that are presently at $3.98 do you like and why:
Maine's Choice
North American
Green Supreme
Clean Energy

I have used MC, NA and GS in the past and found them to be similar, I have never tried CE which I don't believe the local Lowe's carries here.

Clean Energy! They'd be my choice, the Clean Energy Brand are Hammer Hot Ones. They bag under Clean Energy for Lowes

People here at the forum have always said that GT are better than GS but I seriously doubt they are enough better to pay nearly $3 a bag more for them. And a lot of people have liked the Clean Energy pellets too. GS get a bad rap but I think it really depends on your stove and how you run it, they haven't given me any more trouble than any other relatively ashy pellet. But my P61 will burn anything. Some stoves don't do that. I've even run moisture damaged pellets ( let them dry but still swollen and breaking down) through the P61 and it just burned them up like everything else. So maybe my situation isn't the best to judge pellets by.

North American + Maines Choice people say aren't too great. But then you will get followers I'm sure, I've never tried either brand.

My experience is that Green Supreme is poor, at least in my stove. Low heat with high amount of dirty ash.

Well in your shoes I would not buy them then. I'm burning them right now and my house is 72 deg and the stove builds basically two cheeks of ash on the burn pot over a period of time that I just scrape off. Slightly, very slightly more than FSU builds. Basically a non issue.
