Never burned Blazers, but Somerset are my pellet of choice. No perfect pellet out there but Somersets are the closest I have found as far as hardwood pellets go.

Why not try some of each? Somersets are a fine hardwood pellet and Blazers have a good reputation as a softwood pellet. I burned a few bags of Blazers and they provide good heat with hardly any ash. I have not burned Somersets but there are many posts on this forum recommending them.

No blazer experience here either, but hot damn the Sets are where it's at if you can get them.

Blazers are those Douglas firs that you look at your stove and try to figure out where the ash went.....
minmum to Zilch ash...

I think I'll take the blazers great heat low ash and very consistent burn with no need to scrape burn pot.

Somerset for me! I could get them at Lowe's in Asheville, NC last year. They were fantastic. Haven't even heard a rumour of them this year. Only thing around here is Freedom Fuel (ugghhh...) and Fiber Energy Products. Well... I could go to Wrights and pay $7 a bag but I'd rather be cold.
