Feeling the Heat

Oil has been so cheap in my area and the winter mild enough I haven't been burning wood this year but when I came across an add on Facebook for a "MS 360" for $225 it peaked my interest. I immediately asked for a phone number and said I had cash in hand. I was lucky enough to be #1 in the message inbox and it was agreed if I came with cash now he'd let it go for $200 with a quart of Stihl bar Oil and 2.5 gallon gas mix. So a hour drive later I got to hear it run. Oddly enough it was missing it's badge but as soon as I picked it up I knew it wasn't a "360". The dead give away? Spring suspension instead of Rubbers. It fired right up on two pulls with the choke. Brand new 20" bar. Little cosmetic wear but most everything checked out except the gas tank cap was dripping. So I hemmed and hawed about the tiny leak and for $175 it got thrown in the truck. Took it to my dealer and ran the serial # and I was even more pleased to find out it's a ms362. Got a new gas cap and ordered the correct badge for less than $10. Gonna put it to some wood tomorrow I hope. It might even convince me to fire the stove up!

Here's the pic from the add. I'll post a better one once I clean it up. :)

That was pretty good hemming and hawing for $175.00, wow great score. I have a ms362 and love it. Bet you love yours even more at that price;);)

Great saw.

I just bought a used 261 C-M. Didn't get the deal you got but a few hundred lower than new. Curse my CAD >>

Cleaned it up a little by just wiping it down. Haven't had time to use it yet...but I'm itching to!!

MS361,362 is often argued to be the best single saw ever made.

When the question of "your favorite saw" comes up, it usually wins. You'll love it.

Finally had time today to throw a good chain on it and fire it up. I did some investigating before I ran it though because the brand new bar was a slight concern of mine. As I suspected, the chain oiler was plugged up solid from lack of cleaning. Cleaned it out and it runs like a champ! One pull on full choke, one pull on semi-choke and ran smooth. Extremely happy!!!
