What if you bought a used one that meets their criteria?

What if you bought a used one that meets their criteria?

This, from the tax code, probably says "no".

"(B) - originally placed in service by the taxpayer."

Bummer just bought a used Woodstock Fireview.

Darn, where was this a couple years ago? Oh well we did get a $300 tax credit and $300 rebate from our electric company for installing a Geospring water heater.

Just realized some manufacturers have certified and have certificates available for download on their websites. Blaze king and jotul both have them......looks like i am all set.......

Don't forget the huge tax credit if you are in Oregon!

What's all involved? I had a blazeking installed in july. Do I need something from the manufacturer?

You can print it out from the website.

I saw the certificate but is that something I just keep for my records?

Yes, the certificate is to prove that the stove is epa certified if you get audited. I believe you're looking for tax form 5695 to claim the credit.

I had to file early because of FAFSA... But saw this and decided to do an amended return. Hopefully the check is in the mail!!!

I made use of this... i had to remind my accountant about it!

Did my taxes last night. I use turbo tax and it was not really clear were to enter this. If you click the "learn more" tab under the home energy savings section, a pop-up comes up and it talks about EPA approved wood burning stoves.
Entered the $900 my stove and install cost...

Boom...$300 bones saved.

Ah I bought mine in 2014...lost out on $300 bucks!
