Never hurts to take a closer look especially if it was just pushed aside. I love finding scores like that at work from when they cleared rightaways.

Looks like you may have beech in there, too.

There was one small log of something I didnt know what it was, it is stacked on top in picture #2 on the first post.

Right, it's in an area we cleared to build a mitigation area and I noticed it when I was cleaning up something mid-day. I'll check into it today if I get back down there

Looks a little like hackberry but not sure?

If it is an easy score I probably would still grab it. Especially if you have a saw and equipment like it seems like you do.

Those pics don't look like mulberry or Osage . Is this the yellow wood you spoke of? A closer look and it just might be mulberry. Bark looks like it. Not locust for sure.

From 50' away in my dozer it looked yellow and the pics I took the next morning. I didn't get that, wasn't that easy of a grab so I left it alone

Love Thy Neighbor.

He called me up and said he cut three more trees down and the wood is mine to take. Got 3 truckloads. 1 beautiful ash and some maple.

Nice haul. Nice neighbor!

Got three more truck loads from the same source, maybe 2 or 3 more tomorrow. Ash, Cherry, and Maple. I thought I took more pics, but this is the only one that came out.
