I've reduced my beef consumption to 1-2 times a week or less. Not righteous though given that I eat a lot of dairy...

I have a ways to go to be a 'climatarian' eater. ;em
 
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I remember having beef once a week only, and sometimes we would skip it. It definitely was an item on the more expensive scale of the grocery shopping list. And having a burger at a Diner was a treat. Somewhere in the recent past beef has become ubiquitous in the food menus.
 
Food is so difficult to be informed about because it is so complicated and variable in how it's produced, transported, etc.

Is locally produced dairy milk better or worse than almond milk produced in California? And what do you measure to determine what is better? Carbon emissions, water consumption, pesticide use, loss of biodiversity?

My goal is to grow/fish/hunt as much as I can myself, but I'm not there yet and convenience food is very convenient sometimes...
