hello,

Wondering if this is tulip poplar that is what I kind of came to conclusion about. Thanks a ton you guys!

I'd say yes. Have a photo of the end of the log?

We need a photo of the end grain or a fresh split or both. My initial response is Ailanthus aka Tree of Heaven. Leaves would help too but might be a little early for that...

I'm thinking a young tulip

Judging by the bark I'd say young tulip poplar. Cut one around that size over the summer to use as stacking rails. They do tend to grow nice and straight.

I can tell more by the piece standing on end on the ground. Looks like the center is green, if it is, it's Poplar.
 
Mature tulip often has green to purplish streaks when it's milled or split fresh off the stump. It's much lighter in weight than many species as well.

It's tree of heaven. I just cut one. It looked exactly the same. It splits like butter.
