Very cool! As a gear head I love butt I can't help but feel wood that size would make nice boards of milled though. Couldn't imaging the price to buy that let alone operate it all!!
 
Certainly makes those big logs more manageable! I could see @Ashful using something like this
 
Nah, I don't think so - cycle time seems a little long.;)
 
I'm thinking they built that just to showcase their business and abilities. I can't see the point of having 8 foot splits that are also 18 inches thick

That's what I was thinking- what's the point? I'm not sure what the demand for that would be, not really sure. It is cool, however
 
Outside of the obviously impressive machine, what in the heck is a person to do with the quartered sections that weigh 4 or 500 pounds? That is a long ways from being stove size. Even for an Isle Royale.;lol
 
I imagine they use these smaller splits to sell in log loads. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to sell them unless processed into cord wood.
