I think I messed up (blaze king question)

So I blindly pulled out my catalytic combuster to clean it because the stove wasn't burning as efficiently. No problems other than the gasket crumbled on its way out. After further research I found that it's common for it to fall apart and that I should have had a replacement gasket on hand before reinstalling it.

Well, I screwed up. We're in for some cold Temps the next few days as this storm works it way through the rockies. My stove is my primary heat source.

Will it be OK to run the stove for the next few days without the combuster gasket? Will I cause damage to the stove?

I was able to place the bottom of the old gasket under the cat to create a better fit but it's still loose. I decided to run it anyway. Pipes busting are more expensive than a new cat so...I keep checking on it and it has stayed in place so far. If it fell out it would probably just land on the grill that goes on the front of the cat so I don't think it would damage it to bad. I was more concerned about damage to the stove. I'm only burning it moderately just in case.

Temps in the low 20s and a drafty old log cabin have really left me no choice. Got my fingers crossed
