chipmunk behind bathroom vanity

My cat caught a chipmunk and brought it through cat door into the house. Injured, it ran under the vanity counter in my second bathroom. Hiding about three feet back.

Will either

1) close kitty off in the room, hopes it emerges, she gets at it, and any mess is contained to file floor.

2) set up a snap trap w/ peanut butter and sunflower seeds. Then keep cat out of that room and hope it's over quick for the little critter.

Anyone dealt with similar situations?

Shut the cat off in another room and guide the critter out ... trust me if he is still in reasonable shape, the flight response will be intact. Open the window in the bathroom for his escape hatch. It worked for the squirrel!

In my experience, nothing kills the odor of a dead critter indoors. I'd go with Lake Girl's idea. And hope nothing comes in the window to compound your problem.

Was able to get it in a box and outside. Got lucky.

Good to hear ... our "faux" feral cat likes to look after Mom by bringing home his kills. Mice, chipmunks, squirrels are one thing but last year he kept on killing off the baby bunnies:mad:

heck send him over here if its wild bunnies
. cause them good for nuttings wiil get under my garden fence and eat my garden
besides what the slugs and every type beetle and bug known to man doesnt consume. Only thing the bugs didnt eat or chew on last year was I believe the uncountable amt of wild onions and "purple basil"
I tell feral Kat(outdoor only cat) if he doesnt get rid of the moles and (just saw twin bunnies yesterday) he better move on down the road.and find new employment.. Im serious
The lazy butt is here to work. not look "pretty" I have been giving him less to eat hoping he hunts more.... Long as he keeps his "Finds" away from me.. for me not to trip on or clean up his "Finds" (usually birds) on the porch or out of his"bed" or house. cause I dont like cats or animals in general
