I shut her down ,don't care if it goes down to 20 or 30 I'm done. Cleaned the Blaze King, chimney, not that there was much to clean first cleaning this year. Getting her ready for the next owner whomever it may be, Looking at a Princess parlor.Burned maybe two cords if lucky.New steel cat,new door gaskets and thermostat,I'm sure gonna miss her.

I usually wait until summer is well underway before I do my annual chimney sweep. Just this past week we had some cooler weather here in western NC and the house dropped down to 64 degrees with rain and 55 degrees outside. I figure why sit around chilly all day when I can stoke up a little fire and bring things up to 72 so I can sit around in a tee shirt? Plus, one more chance to enjoy watching a fire burn in the stove!

Yep, don't know how many times I've said, "I'm done" this spring. Every time I think it's my last fire, it ain't.

60* and raining right now, going down to 30's tonite. Prolly feel pretty dank by morning, we'll see...

Down in the thirties this morning started a fire to take the chill out of the house. Want to be done but like said above why be chilly when a quick fire heats it right up. I'll give it a good cleaning sometime in July when I know we are done burning.

I have not had a fire in over a month, but it is getting pretty chilly and damp due to a major low pressure system that has been stalled out over the Appalachians most of this week. I might stoke the spirits tonight and fire Old Toasty up one more time this season! Just a small hot fire to knock the chill and the dampness down a bit.

It was 39F with blowing snow when I got home from work at 2 PM today. Only 65 in the house, fired the BK up without hesitation. It had been a few weeks since she had been lit.

65 damn! We good to 60 up here!

The fire did not happen, bummer. My wife and daughter are both part polar bear and love it on the cool side, my son and I were in fleece jackets and tossle hats. Our rule for lighting the stove is that we must have a majority vote in favor of doing so. I think we are done for this season.

Done here and glad to be! I enjoy that first fire of the season equally to to the last!

Went from burning to the A/C in two days flat yesterday. From a high of 50 and raining to a high of 90 and sun.

Crazy change of weather.

Got up early today. 60 inside and 45 outside. I wouldn't complain if I had to burn all year. I hate hot weather.

Starting to warm up here. No problem for me, I love our summer weather.

I think I can top that . . . well maybe not top it . . . but give a comparable story.

Yesterday my wife was in the house bundled under a blanket with a sweatshirt on as it was cool and rainy . . . kept dropping hints about starting a fire or turning on the oil boiler . . . so I started a small fire.

A few hours later the sun came out and it became hot and muggy . . . was seriously thinking about jumping in the pool . . . except that the pool cover is still on it.

I went hiking in the rain today and have stuff to dry out...and it's chilly.

If you're asking about the location for my weather, it's just a nearby landmark that my weather app recognizes.

He's stalking you. Better put on your tin foil hat! We are trying to resist burning but it's cold inside. Mid 60s. Supposed to warm up later this week.

LOL Never been to Lake Goodwin and was wondering about camping there. If it's noisy and crowded then probably not.

It's pretty busy on nice days and weekends. The lake is surrounded by houses and it's far from a wilderness setting.

Looks like I'll be firing the stove up again today.

Thanks. Storms are keeping temps down today. We may have a small fire this evening if it drops into the mid-40s.
