Had some pine trees come down around the house

I have a lot of pine and they are the first to fall from ice storms. I have been working through them as time permitted. The grapple sure speeds things up.

Looks like it speeds it up for sure! Im amazed at those big growth rings in the second picture! What kind of pine is it?

I got some pine from a neighbor. Tried everything but dynamite to split it. Finally gave it away to someone who either has a bigger maul than mine or a hydraulic splitter!

good gawd - green pine is horrible to split! depressing when the maul bounces off and water and sap sprays all over you - unless you like that sort of thing. makes me grateful to have a splitter. even then some of the knots and pins won't let go!
