Is the BK Sirocco 25 Insert a CAT? Hybrid? Looks like this could fill the gap between Travis Large and Small Hybrid inserts.

Is the BK Sirocco 25 Insert a CAT? Hybrid? Looks like this could fill the gap between Travis Large and Small Hybrid inserts.

Hybrids.... psh. These new stoves have super low emissions and super high efficiency without adding the hybrid "feature".
If you could make a flush for those of us with shallow hearths (18") I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Maybe the Sirocco will fit the bill if the face isn't more than 2" out, I'll have to wait to see. Love my princess stove, but looking for an insert and sometimes hearth extensions just aren't an option due to location. On a side note, the pdf's don't show the correct dimensions, something got cut off on the princess depths on pdf brochure download from your site. And just might as well throw in a pet peeve of mine that every manufacturer does is market photos that don't meet the clearance requirements

The "face" is 3.5" from front of the fireplace. With 16" (USA) and 18" (Canada) hearth requirements, you will need 19.5" and 21.5" of hearth from front of the fireplace.If you could make a flush for those of us with shallow hearths (18") I'd buy one in a heartbeat. We've been burning 3 cords or so each winter with an Enviro Kodiak fireplace insert. Now that we're moving, I'm thinking about my next stove. Would certainly like something that burns longer than the Enviro...it's not bad...I can load it at night and start a fire from the coals in the morning...
...but hearing about multiday burns with the BK...I know where I'm going to go shopping. Haven't picked out the house yet, but it has a couple of requirements -- someplace to install a stove or two, south/west exposure for PV solar, big garage, pool, good location to season wood, maybe a hot plate and some place to sleep. That pretty much sums it up!
And yes, looking forward to seeing the new products from Blaze King!

My wife keeps asking about pellet stoves...she thinks they (I mean me) will make less mess in the stove room. (I get wood dust, chips, etc. on the floor). She doesn't know about the daily maintenance of a pellet stove. And I don't want a heat appliance...we already have one of those in the basement.
Men are meant to play with fire.
...and by men, I mean anyone who wants to!
Oh, and with regard to my posting above...we found a house! One fireplace, pool (table), good southern/western exposure for PV solar, pond with sandy beach nearby for the days I'm not playing with fire. I told my boss three times I'm not moving to retire...I'm not sure he believes me.

You may want to contact someone with an insert, these "multi day burns" are coming from free standing stoves, I've heard of some people that were disappointed when they bought a BK princess insert because they were not getting the heat or burn time they thought they should be getting.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion and will look into it. Not sure why an insert would perform much differently than a freestanding stove of similar design, but then again, I'm a sales & marketing guy, not an engineer.

Engineer here. Think of a stove as a cube with six hot sides. By stuffing that box into a fireplace (as an insert) you are blocking five of those sides from "seeing" the room. Depending on your chimney location and house construction, a significant portion of the heat from the 5 shielded sides is going towards heating your chimney (and the outdoors) instead of your living space. Some will claim that an interior chimney will release that heat back to the house, but that is an inefficient path, since chimneys are purposefully thermally insulated from the structure, to prevent the spread of chimney fires.
One notable difference with an insert is that most often they have a convective jacket surrounding at least 3 of the sides. This both shields some of the radiant heat from the stove and also convects it to the interior of the house. A block-off plate at the damper area will help reduce heat loss to the chimney. If there's room some folks also insulate the fireplace walls to reduce heat loss from the insert. This is most helpful with an exterior chimney.
Also, let's not forget the importance of the blower with an insert. It helps to get the heat surrounding the insert, into the room

That is to the door opening, so that you can get actual hearth protection figures. 2.6 + 16 = 18.6

We do create designs in house and also thru other sources. (Design only) 100% Combustion design is proprietary.
