We had a storm last Wednesday. A mini tornado came thru the area. Neighbor lost a medium size Oak. Nobody got hurt, no property damage. He does not have a stove, so no need for the wood. I will take the day off on Monday to help him cut up the tree. He gets the tree out of his yard, I get wood for the 2018 season. Win-win. This is the 2nd tree I get from his property. I like a firewood supplier next door.

Ok, that kinda almost sounds like you are gloating...:p
My neighbor has offered me some poplar and some other trees when he takes them down because he is a pellet burner.
+1 on the source next door. Pretty cool

I have a next door farmer neighbor and he has offered me trees off and on for the 20+ years we have been living here. I used to rabbit hunt on his farm and I can go for nature walks now anytime I want. I have returned the favor with strawberry jam and smoking wood and good conversation. Yes, it pays to love thy neighbor as thyself :)

I got two semi loads from my neighbor, in 2013. Delivered to my splitting area. Of course, now I have to stare at a house where once there was only trees.

Because you guys always say that it didn't happen without a picture, here is the result of a few hours cutting.
