That was on a friend's brother's property. Pretty slick way to do it. We have a pine tree right behind the house I have wanted to top that way for 30 years. But the neighbors would freak.

Only about 4 hours from my house. Guess we should have done a video years ago on the seagull rescue my son and neighbour performed when my younger daughter realized he was caught in fishing line.;lol;lol Not quite the splendor of an eagle... but than I'm more worried about those eagles picking off my cats!

PS Happy July 1st or July 4th !

Nice story. Thanks.

Lake Girl, as for the fishing line, I can't tell you how disgusting it is for me to find snarled line on the ground near fishery waters. That stuff never goes away and I've picked up untold of it while fishing. Put there by "sportsmen"? Hardly. Thanks for cutting the bird loose.

Sportbikerider, it may indeed be a 10-22. Every time I go into a sport shop, I darn near buy one. Just for plinking.

I saw an episode of "Mythbusters" once that showed how nearly impossible it is to sever a rope with a gun. No wonder it took so many rounds to do the job. Very good shooting for sure. I fired "expert" in the AF, but I'm not sure I could have done that.
