Burning Hunk

New to the forum but I have been around here for some time. I got burned on my first load of wood that I purchased in December because I was rushing to find a source once I moved into my new house. I found a guy locally that had almost 1 cord of firewood for sale at a good price. It was not seasoned as it should have been but it was not terrible either. It got me through but I was determined to find my own source.

I was hunting a property that I had not been to all year and realized that BGE had cut a bunch of trees last summer and left all of the rounds on the property. The landowner gave me the green light to haul it all away. I only picked up two full truckloads because I didn't have a place to store it yet. This was in March and I have since built a few temporary wood racks and I have started splitting all of it. Not sure how much wood this is per load but I estimate about 1/2 cord maybe more split?

I think the general rule of thumb is loose thrown firewood in a "standard" pick up bed (6 1/2 foot) is about 1/3 of a cord of wood if rounded slightly above the bed.

i like your stacking method :)

I agree with this. I have a 6.5ft truck box with a 6x12ft trailer (with 1ft side walls) all piled this way is about 1 cord total.
