I had an alert on craigslist for a log splitter, and all of a sudden I get a notification. When I checked out the ad, it was from dht, having a factory sale.

Needless to say, I called them, and ended up with a fully warrantied, fluid filled dht22 for under $800. They had all sorts of other toys too, and even though it was tempting, I didn't buy a string trimmer or a riding mower.

I fired it up and split a few pieces. Works pretty great so far!

Nope. It's both.

They actually have quite a few more as well, so if people are local to the denver area, that is a good way to do it!

You're going to love it!! I picked up the 27 ton at Menards for just under $950 out the door with a negotiated 5 gallon bucket of fluid. It was an after black friday and christmas clearance sale! I've run about 8-9 cord through it and haven't had one round not split. And not a single issue! Have fun splittin'!

Plastic container with lid that holds instructions/owners manual. It's something that's been seen on tractor implements for well over a decade.

I thought it was the rocket! It fits a thermos of coffee quite well.

And has the warranty and instructions

All my equipment is at least 25yrs old.

That would explain it. They've been on just about every new tractor attachment (especially rear attachments) I've seen over the past 10 years--or maybe even 15 years ago. I like the idea, but I've also had one of those cylinders rip off a heavy duty rotary brush cutter, so I keep the papers elsewhere.

Ripped mine off. Total accident though. I tried to drop it onto the trailer dolly and missed. Tongue hit the ground and the tube hit the dolly. Busted it right off. Doh

I spent about an hour the other day, and got through some of the pile. I'm still trying to figure out where to stack it, but I have to clear a path so I can load it up and drive it out to the back back yard where it will get good sun. My wife likes the idea of stacking it near the fence, because she thinks the stacks look nice. Granted, she made the deal to stack everything I split, but I needed to make room to split more. If I stack wood all along my fence, I don't have to worry about the fence collapsing right?

I got back from a trip yesterday and decided to pick the wife up early at the office. after a terribly overpriced awful lunch, we went home early, told the kids to pretend we weren't home, and we went off to get through the pile. I took the saw, and she got the splitter. I of course helped her with the bigger sized pieces, and then she stacked everything she split. I should have gotten a picture of the stack before I started piling more stuff on it, but there will be plenty more for her to stack! I think another couple of days and I might get through this.
