i would like to see 6" to 12" pipe between the cap and the 90 to get the cap away from that nice siding

That's a nice clean install! I agree with Rod - that extra foot of horizontal run away from the siding would be good. My uncle's stove caps off about a foot from the side of his house, and it's pretty discolored from soot/smoke.

Well...not exactly sure what u mean by ICC. I do know its a pipe they like to use ...it has a heat resistant silicone gasket on each connection. I agree on the siding. I spent enough on the stove etc...I plan to extend at a later date...possibly doing it myself. The dealer I bought it at has had their demo's hooked up at the store for some time...occasionally switching them out and they have soot....hopefully I wont. But....it is on my mind to extend. Until then...I guess I'll be cleaning periodically. lol

Does someone know what brand that pipe is? I recently saw it at a store but don't remember who makes it. Prices out a bit more than Simpson Dura Vent but it requires no cauking.

I was going to sell it but my distributor had to pull the plug on selling it because of a Pissing match deal with durvent
I do sell the ICC wood stove pipe and love it
I really liked the inside gaskets -- no caulking. I have some smoke that comes out the bottom of my (Simpson) cleanout cap -- but only at startup. Plenty of smoke goes up but I think the cold air still pushes some down before it heats up. This new pipe cleanout cap that I saw just seemed like it would have a tighter fit. I have a five foot vertical run -- no leaks in that run just at bottom at cold start up. Be nice if it came in black!

so we only buy the galvanized stuff and paint it to match the stove with $9 in paint insted of 150 extra for painted pipe

I installed my stove with Galvanized, I'm looking into painting the pipe. Any specific brands that you recommend?

No....its the Castille Model.....the AE model is just a bigger version of the Castille model. I didnt need the larger model for the space i needed it for. So far so good....love the stove!!

AE just stands for Advanced Enery, the larger stove is the Mt Vernon AE. I hope that some day they will make a Castile-AE.

Thats correct....the AE has better DNA lol. The AE can burn a variety of fuel....Castille is limited to pellets and shelled corn.Jabberwocky said:
