I have always bought Greene Team as I got them cheap ($240/ton) from Lowes with coupons. Bought a ton this year for $220 but they canceled my order so looking at this place in Suffield, CT

http://www.btpellet.com/page/price-list

They have a number of brands (price per ton)

Fusion Blend $245
Cubex Premium Hardwood $280
North Country $280
Hammers $280
Energex $285
Logik-e $270
Vermont Super Premium Softwood $300
Maine Woods $265
Oxford Premium Softwood $295
Platinum Softwood $270
Ambiance Super Premium Hardwood $295
EZ Blaze Premium Softwood $295
Wood Pellet Co. $270
Lacrete Super Premium Softwood $285
Dry Creek Premium $270
EZ Blaze Blend $285

I cannot decide what to buy. A low ash would be ideal as the heat my stove puts out drops exponentially from soot / ash buildup.

I like the price of the fusion but leaning toward Hammers (or maybe Cubex).

Paid $1.59/gal of oil so having a hard time paying $280 for pellets.

Also this place has Barefoot for $300 but sale may have ended:

Or HD may have stove chow for $259

I bought from them many years ago, but they don't deliver to me and I no longer have the ability to pick them up. They were helpful from what I remember.

It seems all the HDs around me have Stove Chows. They burn pretty well in my stove. Makes it difficult for me to justify spending more but I might pick up a few bags of some higher quality pellet this winter just to see if I'm really missing anything... My wife works close to BT's other facility and I don't live too far away from Blakeslee in Middletown.

I too saw the Fusions on their website the other day. That's an attractive price. I'm still looking for reviews on that pellet. Not a lot of info out there.

For what it's worth, I really wasn't impressed with Greene Teams, especially for the price Lowe's usually sells them for (over $6/bag normally). I thought Stove Chow, Fireside Ultra, Nature's Own - all made by Energex I believe - were better and cheaper. But my stove might just be picky. Burned a bunch of ThermaGlo as well. Thought it was similar performance to Greene Teams but for over a dollar less per bag.

Yeah from what I have seen all CT Home Depot's by me have stove chow only at 259 a ton.

Rhode Island by me on the other hand is 249 and has FSU also.

Pick up a few bags of different brands. That's part of the fun. Last year I stumbled across Blackstones and was pleasantly surprised how well my stove did with them, far better than reviews would indicate.

I would never buy pellets for that price when your getting oil, for $1.59...my 20 yr run of burning pellets seems to be over and was last year, it's so good not having to lug bags, clean and have a evenly heated home, furnace is on right now and I'm loving it!!

Just picked up a ton of Hamers for 280$ at BT Pellet. Guy was great, loaded my truck and I was outta there in 10 minutes...but my god are their hours a pain in the ass.

The HD stove chows, what stores are you guy finding those at? Enfield, Bloomfield?

Pretty much same stuff this year. Hammers were better than Greene Teams but also cost more. Burn better and hotter and less ash but would cake burn box in hard carbon buildup daily.

This is the only place nearby where I could pickup (in my town).

Other places have some better choicese but prices are not great

Good price for hammers here @ $265 but too far

Greene Teams would be $226.80 per ton after coupons. May just get a couple of tons of those again at that price and a ton or two of hammers...IDK.
EDIT, actually $252/ton as no more $100 Lowes GCs for $90. So not buying them...

I was really happy with hamers. I don't mind paying a little extra to get them again this year. Probably will get two tons from BT and that will be it for the season. They are 280 right now. Last year they had a coupon out around Xmas time so look out for it this year too.

TSC Enfield has Maine Woods pellets for $249.50/ton. Bar code ends in 306. The ones that end in 208 are Curran. Scanned with gepir. I wanted to check Southwick TSC as well.

I may stick with Hammers or try a few different types. Im curious if the Fusions are any good. Also curious to try Cubex and Dry Creak Premiums. Read the Dry Creak Ultra Premiums are better so may see if they will sell individual bags so I can test out...seems like a lot of work.

I also found more $100 lowes GCs for $91 so again GTs would be $226/ton using $40 off $200 coupon, which is hard to beat. But you are right, paying a bit more can be worth it. However, I may at least get one ton of them if they are as good or better than the Fusions.
