Hello everyone. I sold my VC Intrepid II the other day. I hated to get rid of it, but it was just too small. I had the chance two years ago to replace the VC with an Efel Multi, coal or wood but I was too busy at work to pick it up, and I regretted not getting it.

I found another Efel Harmony in good shape that I am going to pick up Saturday morning. I have already downloaded the owners manual. This stove will fit perfectly where our old fireplace was located. If I had enlarged the area I could have went with a larger stove (maybe a future project).

I am looking for any info, previous owners, likes, dislikes, advice, etc. I did some reading and found mixed reviews.

Switching gears for a moment. The old Resolute is in pieces in my garage. The plan when I bought it was to rebuild and replace the Intrepid II but I am too busy to to start on it, maybe a winters project.

I may have missed this topic if it has been covered before. If so please advise and I will look again.

I will post pics once it's installed and ready to go.....Any info on the Harmony is Appreciated and thank you.

That's a cat stove. Moving this to the main forum for modern stoves. Do you have the manual for it?

How does the catalytic combustor look?

Good deal, that should keep you warmer.

***************Update: **"************

Does anyone know if there is a coal conversion kit for this stove? The previous owner burned coal in this stove. The manual doesn't mention that the grates slide back and forth, so I'm wondering if he had a conversion kit installed in it. See pictures.
Thanks.

With the catalyst I think it's strictly a woodburner. The sliding grates are for ash dumping.

Looks very nice.

The documentation is quite thin for this stove. They do not cover fireplace installation and therefore there are no tested mantel clearance requirements. I would watch that closely and shield it if necessary. You might want to look at another cat stove for guidance. The Vermont Castings Encore 2550 has good documentation on fireplace installations.

I hope my first attempt will work. If not I will cut a bigger piece.
