You guys are so helpful. I want to replace thermostat on my resolute III since I already have it taken apart. Cant figure out how to unscrew the old one out without the little lever/handle hitting back of the stove. ???
Thank you Sheshe.

Hi Defiant3, too funny I read your first reply and said outloud Really? And then I see your second reply. Your reading my mind. ok so I bend it. The new one going on, its looks a little different online, like it sticks out further, not so much at a 45. So do I need to bend the new one going on, please say no.
Another question I need a round flue collar for my resolute III, not oval. Not enough room for adapter. Will not be to code. Flue goes horiontal right into chimney. see pics. Do you or anyone have one lying around?$$ $210 online +shipping ouch! Again you're very helpful. Really appreciate your replies. Sheshe

First, if you squish the pipe it should fit w/o an adapter. Second, why are there pic.s of an Intrepid II? And finally, ya gotta bens d the thermos once it's in, but take a file and cut a few strokes where the bend needs to be. It helps, as new thermos.s seem to be made of heavier gauge than the old ones. Go figure.

I would be double sure that whomever is trying to sell a Res. III collar isn't mistaking it for an Acclaim collar. They haven't made Resoloute flue collars for many years, and I don't remember them being round either. I'll look and see what I got but I still don't think you'll need it .

Happy heating!!!!!

I would prefer to have round. don't want to mess with squishing pipe if I ever have to go back to roundand squich it back. As you can see no room to play if I screw it up. Im a novice. The intrepid is in there now (which I love, just regasketed the doors, what a difference) but want to switch to the resolute for longer burn time. I have to set alarm for 4am, replenish the intrepid in the middle of the night or I wake up freezing. the collar I see online is at cozy cabin model #1301668. says its for round for resolute II. I sent them an email to clarify. Have not heard back.

Not quite following you on cut a few strokes where the bend needs to be. I'll meditate on that. Thanks Defiant 3
ps yeah if you happen to find a round collar let me know how much. :)
