Is this an early model mama bear? No Fisher name on door? Different draft caps and handle?

My guess is that this was made by one of the Fisher fabricators who tried to sell their own knock offs of the Fisher patented stove. If you read the history of Fisher the company had problems with a few of their franchises making stoves on their own, using the Fisher pattern.

Hope the guy that built it dropped it on his big toe.

An early door will look like this. All Fisher Stoves have the name cast into the door except TF-88 which was etched into the glass.

Someone no doubt took a Mama / Papa door to a foundry and had them cast it without the name. Other inconsistencies with the stove are the ground round corners and ash fender shape. The hinge plates are much thicker than material called for by Fisher as well. Anyone with welding skills and a tape measure can build one. Notice the ad states "Fisher Type".
The legs don't look to be the minimum 6 inch either. Could be, hard to tell in the picture, but that is a NFPA standard requirement for floor protection.
