WHO designated this-un a "Master Woodsman"? Not very believable. Jake's not gotten rousing welcome on other forum. Wonder why?
Cutting up a trash fire a great idea?

Guess Master Woodsman is a self-designation? I do have to admit that I got a real kick out of watching the video after reading your comments CTYank. Particularly the spots where he runs in terror away from the falling tree and then gets the plastic sack caught in his saw while cutting up the trash fire.

The first part was certainly entertaining, but the lack of PPE makes me cringe. !!!

I think I figured this video out within the first 18 seconds when the "master woodsman" failed to use a viable hinge and was cutting in what only can be described as someone inexperienced using a saw.

I continued to watch for the next two minutes only to see if the failure to wear PPE and if the poor technique of drop pulling the saw to start it (at least in the fashion he used) would end up resulting in some nasty gash . . . spoiler alert . . . it did not.

Other "highlites" included hacking into a stump nine ways by Sunday instead of simply cutting it off horizontally, failing to use an undercut on the branch so that it doesn't drop straight down and wearing shorts . . . while sawing into a pile of debris on fire.

This is anything but masterful . . . perhaps it was done as a joke or humor?

Sadly, don't think so. The 435 is probably a nice saw (I have a similar 440 that I like a lot), but in the wrong hands, it's as dangerous as any other. This is kind of scary. I'm not sure I saw him do anything right yet, except stay alive all this time somehow. Well, the bucking wasn't too bad I guess.

No PPE, poor hinge, etc, is one thing, but I had to gasp at the fire thing. That was just plain dumb IMO. The best thing he did was warn others not to replicate his "stunts" which is what they were.
