Seems that my glass is leaking air. The inside of the window gets COVERED with thick black soot, as does the rest of the stoves insides. I've tightened the screws on the clamps. Next I'm going to clean very well and seal the outside of the glass/door joint with hi heat RTS and see if that does the trick. Unless you want to talk me out of it! Last thing we need is a fire... The caulk is rated for 800°. I have no idea how hot the glass gets. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Don't seal the glass with caulk. Some stoves are build so that air leakage around the gasket is what keeps the glass clean (not sure on the piazzetta). How old is the stove? Internal pathway cleaning routine & how often? vent set up? OAK? settings? Change in pellets? Door gasket usually goes before the glass gasket.

I don't think I've ever cleaned the internal pathways in my 1 year old Sabrina. How would I and what would I use? No OAK, vent is good, just cleaned. Same pellets I've used for a few weeks. The settings... They are arduous on a pizzetta... But I believe they are set to Pascals recommended settings. I'll try anything at this point. But I'll wait before I caulk the outside

Have you started using the Cab again... two appliances drawing air from inside for combustion may be causing a problem.

Page 41 of the manual ... Cleaning the smoke chamber. You need a gasket before you do that.

No, I ended up giving the cab to a cousin. I'll get a gasket. Page 41, thank you. I think I have the manual here somewhere...

As to settings ... sometimes what works for one stove/household may not work well in others. When you make changes, keep written record of your settings that you change so you can always go back if something doesn't work well. 1/2 hour minimum to see what effect changes make....

Keep us posted.

Clean your smoke chamber once a season. I reused the gasket that seals the smoke chamber. The Piazzetta glass is notorious for sooting up, though it shouldn't be black soot, but whitish or grayish. Get the stove super clean, and then start testing. You should definitely not be getting black soot, that's indicative of a bad burn, not enough air.

As for the door gasket, do a door seal test with a dollar bill, but you should be able to see where the soot is getting out if there's a leak. My Sabrina's door gasket is clean as a whistle.

sorry that lak as notting to do with the black soot proof look at the next picture you will see that there is air coming in just over the glass door and this does not cause any soot. I took it out off the stove so you can have a better look to all of the holes there is

one ting that is important when you clean the smoke chamber is to clan the inlet for the pressur switch it is located on the write wall inside of the smoke chamber a good way to see what you are doing is to take a picture before and after with a smart phone just like below you can see the round chromed ring... this is the inlet for the pressure switch if not cleaned you will get an E2 error code.
