Looking for some help, new to the site and pellet stoves. Here is the problem. My pellet stove, Whitfield WP4 was working great. Unfortunetaly the control panel met with sometype of surge and now doesn't work. I see the fuse is blown and guessing all the IC's need replacing, but one with a "H" on it, that is about all I can read the rest is gone. I tried to buy another one, part #13645900, but since Sept it is no longer available. Is there anyone out there that may be able to help me with a schematic of the board, parts, or even no where to get another new one. I talked to a few shops but not much help. Lennox I am awaiting a response. Can another board be retrofitted? A newer board? Please help with any and all ideas. Don't know what I did...but oops...

Thanks for any and all help
Nick

Good news Sort of
Lennox is sending my some Rebuild boards but at a premeum.
I dont have them yet.

Whitfield 13645900 Quest WP4 Board N $275.00

email me with detail on how to order one

Well I guess that is good. I just got off the phone with another person...they said they can get one...I will find out hopefully next week. I will let you know for sure. But they are only $215...so going to try with them...thanks and I will drop you a mail

thanks
Nick

If they have one grab it
Im still showing the few I ordered on backorder from Lennox
the price may be adjusted once I get the final cost to me.

If you do get a replacement, I would do some careful examination and note taking on it before installing it - especially make note of what the IC's are and any other output transistors and the like - they don't look like anything to special, and it sounds like that would allow you to repair the board if something happens to it again.

Well...that is what I am hoping...I figured replace all the IC's and check the transitors...and at least have it for a replacement if I goof again. Thanks for all the help...and hopefully will get one soon. thanks again

Examine both sides of the board closely. Look for any darkening of a component or the board on the reverse side. Also, use your nose close to the board. Sometimes you can smell a fried component, really.

Minor suggestion when replacing IC's - get sockets so that you can replace them in the future w/o having to solder on the board. Most boards have a limited number of heating cycles that they can take w/o failures, and a socket can be a life saver in this regard. Also verify that you aren't dealing with a multi-layer board - looking at it, I don't think it is, but never hurts to be sure. If it is multi-layer, you probably should try to figure out where any inner layer connects go before soldering starts. Inner connects are easily damaged and you might need to replace them with surface jumpers.

hearthtool...I pm'd you....let me know if you got it...

I am getting the will be ready in a week...then an email it will actually be 2 weeks...I really want to start running my stove....

Does anyone have any idea what that IC is that can't be read? It has an "H" on it...the others I can read and buy online...

thanks again for the help

Im still waiting
They told me over a month ago that they are NOW available again.
So i put some on order. I checked with Lennox and they are still on backorder.
