P2700 blower stops and stove overheats.....

The first time this happened, I thought it was a fluke. The stove was running on setting 3 and the room blower just simply stopped. The stove got *very* hot and started making massive creaking sounds. I turned it off and the combustion blower continued until the stove cooled down.

This morning, it had been running for about an hour on setting 3 and then the same thing happened again but I wasn't in the room when it happened so I didn't catch it until the stove got very very hot and then the thermo disk tripped shutting the stove down. This time, not sure if it was occuring the first time, the red heat level led was flickering on the front panel.

It's still cooling down now. The first time it happened, after it cooled down, I started it back up and the room blower was working perfectly. It spins free and easy. The stove is only a few weeks old.

Could this be a control board?

So I was just sitting here waiting for it to cooldown. Surface of exhaust was down to about 130F and the front of the glass was down to about 150F and suddenly the room blower kicks on full like nothing happened.

Breckwell is sending me a new blower. The tech said that the convection blower has a thermo protection circuit inside and that it's probably defective.

Real good way to start a fire. The stoves ability to cool down after the thermo disk trips is highly dependent upon kicking up the blower to the highest output to scrub off the heat.

Well, this is not good. I was hoping it was a fluke, but if it's happening to more than just me....

I can't for the life of me figure out why the control board doesn't shut the auger if if the blower load goes to nothing. It seems like that would be a basic safety feature and required. The convection blower is the one that if it stops will result in the stove temperature rising significantly after the thermo disk trips because the auger is still feeding pellets with the convection blower off and once the disk trips, pellets that were just added at that instant will be adding their contribution peaking about 30 seconds later. The temperature continued to rise by hundreds of degrees after the thermo disk tripped just because of this.
