I was thinking there was another stove brand that loaded from the top, but I can't remember the name. Is Vermont Castings the only one?

Thanks,

Jan

i have no idea if they are still made, but ashley was another brand of top-loading stove.

The Lopi Leyden is a top loader and is a downdraft stove like the VC " Everburn ". They claim of up to a fourteen hour burn time. I don't know about that one.

Jim

Lopi Leyden is another one, along with the Harman stoves Exception TL-200, TL-300, and Oakwood

and Harman Oakwood, another downdraft.

Of all the top loaders out there which ones aren't downdraft models?

The Quad Isle Royale and the VC cat stoves.

BG is right about that, and they are the only ones that work all the time.
I was sold on top loaders, after a month with a front loader, it is not such a big deal. The only thing I miss on VC is the ash removal system; it was efficient and easy.
But, not worth owning one for.
