I just finished installing a new BIS tradition ce in my home. So far my wife and i are very pleased with the performance of the unit, and the only complaint that she has is...... WHEN ARE YOU GONNA FINISH IT! Now that leads me to my question. I would like to build a wood mantel for this unit and somewhat give it a more traditional look, maybe with a curved area above the firebox. The manufacture states that the mantel need be 42" min above the unit... now do they mean the shelf or the piece of curved 3/4 stock that i mentioned before? Any ideas or pics of finished tradition ce's that anyone may have are welcomed. thanks

Open the "downloads" menu, then select procduct brochure and page 6 shows a wood mantel over a Lennox Montecito (clone of Bis traditon CE).

Not exactly sure what your question meant about a curved piece of wood, but the brochure shows one kind of mantel install anyway.

Actually, it is page 5 of the Montecito product brochure.

By the way Lennox Hearth Products owns Security Chimney Co, so the Security Bis line is the same, except for names, as the Lennox line of ZC woodburning fireplaces.
