I bought some pellets from Home Depot and like them (fireside) 209.00 and on the back of the bag it say the premier pellet corp. Montreal Quebec I thought they burnt very hot..

Then i went to Lowes and bought some of there pellets and the name on the bag was (Natures Own)180.00 and the name on the back was the same as the Fireside but the heat isn't the same...
Has anyone else had these problems with these prouducts..

Maybe people could comment on the pellets you are using...

tks chuck

Yes, different mills. Same Pellet Co. though.

The Fireside ultras I got don't burn hot at all. The Natures own burn nice and hot. Could be they make both brands in each of the two places depending what bages they have on hand. Thats my guess.

Rumor has it that Energex makes the Fireside Ultra, not sure about the
Natures Own, but they do sell loads of pellets under a variety of
different names to stores like HD & Lowes.

If I remember correctly what I read on the bag the Firesides's are Hard wood and the Natures are White Wood. (I do have a tendency to forget though lol )

What is the difference of white and soft.. I am only guessing here that White wood and soft wood are the same?

I'm with you Chuck. I can never find where it says hardwood or softwood. I guess we are just supposed to guess.

Of the brands I have tried, Summerset, and Pennington have listed "Material - Hardwood". The other two Stove Chow and Energex, "Material - 100% Wood" so these two you just guess.. :)

Men! You don't have to guess. You can smell the difference! LOL

The softwood pellets I have tried did smell just like a fresh cut pine board. Hardwoods didn't have as much of a smell.
