Eastern CT
I've read with great interest all of the postings concerning gasification boilers and am getting close to purchasing the Greenfire 130. It seems to offer all of the features I like at a reasonable price. Now I was wondering if anyone else in Eastern CT, RI, or MA is interested in purchasing a unit from Greenfire. I think an even better price is available with purchase of enough units. Also, anyone with one of these units please share your experience.
thank you

Welcome to the Boiler Room, cmullen6. I believe we have one Greenfire owner at the moment, and he seems pretty happy with it, after installing it this past fall. Hopefully he'll check in with some details.

I may be interested BUT I am just getting my feet wet right now. I plan on doing some leg work in the near future...

I am sure you have seen the Greenfire thread with pics. If not: https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/13731/

I am very happy with the unit. After using wood appliances all my life I thought I knew all there was to burning. Wrong. Even-though I have never had any issues close to some of the horror story threads you read about GW, Adobe, etc... I am still learning to burn cleaner and more efficiently. I suspect Eko, Tarm, and others burn a bit cleaner (see the still learning part) but I like the long burn times, flexibilty to burn unsplit large wood, burning less them optimum seasoned wood.
I am currently adding 750 gallons of water storage because the "ole girl" make too much heat!

hi cmullen iwas looking at the green fire also the guy iwas speaking to was supposed to send me prices and info 3 or 4 weeks ago havent seen them yet who were you dealing with thanks

I spoke with Mark who is actually the guy making them. Its a small operation also known as valley trailers. He quoted $4700 list for the 130 and $4000 list for the 90. He also said dealer pricing (6 or more units) would be less. He is very helpful, but very busy as you can imagine, so I don't think the lack of response was intentional. I had that kind of response from the Greenwood dealer though.

hi another guy from maine wood furance just got back to me after i emailed them and he said he has a customer in shelton with one he is going to get back to me with is info thanks ray

I too have been looking at the Greenfire boilers. I stoped by and took a look at sparkes and was really impressed with it. At $1000.00 off the list price I would be really interested in one. Keep me updated if you find enough buyers.

Thanks Brian
